soooooooooo
we have 30 plus days and counting.... some believe that we will finish, possibly early. there is a lot of "work" being done. we have been told to make decisions and finish but we cannot figure anything out. we can hardly eliminate an option without bringing it back later.

if we work 8 hours a day each for the rest of the time on the weekend and 4 hours each during the week on site- we have 1800 + working hours onsite. this is without volunteers or crunch time.

will we finish ever?

We installed a window today! The house is completely sheathed, we are waiting for the framing inspection. We have the electrical roughed in and are getting mecha and plumbing by the end of the week. We might finished the project before graduation if we can find some money or a benefactor.........

well...
We finished installing the girders and joist this weekend despite the sky trying to fall down on us. It really looks different and feels reassuring to have the house take form. It is a great feeling knowing that we are doing something for a great family.

Well...
It has been a while since my last post. I am having a blast building this house. I got to drive a tractor for most of the day, yesterday. We filled in most of the dirt and compacked it into the formwork for the slab. Today we dug most of the grade beams out. We still have more to dig. You can loose a small person in a few of the holes. We hope to have most of the slab work finsihed and ready for the pour on friday. Then this weekend we will do all of the preparation done for the piers side. We hope to pour the concrete on tuesday of next week. I am also excited because my parents are coming up for that. Well... stay tuned

We may actual finish the house!

Well, today we went to the site for a "work day." One volunteer showed up. It is fine because we did not have our stuff together for a real build day. We tried to locate the corners of the house, until we came up a drawing mistake. So I got to chainsaw a 100' tree that fell very close to half of the team. It was fun. And unfortunately I am now in studioworking on the three dimensional model and wish that I could go out on this nice day.

Howdy,
I do not know what to say but we are getting there. We made a few major desicions since we have gotten back from break. The plans were very indepth, the we sent into the building officals. They unfortunately were return with little red markings to be resummitted.
I think that I got the poisen ivy that was on my body in my eye the other day. So that was fun....
We have been talking a lot about the foundation- digging, forming, and pouring. I AM SO EXCITTED ABOUT THIS. I cannot wait. Even though we do not have a building permit, we are going out to the site to set up some of the form work.
